Course
Stop Work Authority – Made for Mobile
This course explains how Stop Work Authority gives workers, supervisors and managers the right and responsibility to stop work when something is unsafe, conditions have changed, or the work no longer matches what was planned.
The course follows practical workplace examples and is Made for Mobile, making it easy to complete on a smartphone, tablet or computer.

Who is it for?
This course is designed for anyone who may need to recognise a concern, stop work or make decisions about whether work should continue, including:
- Workers and operatives
- Supervisors and team leaders
- Site managers
- Project and contracts managers
- Health and safety professionals
- Senior managers with responsibility for work activities
Why is it needed?
Unsafe work is not always obvious. A reason to stop might be a physical hazard on site, but it could also be missing information, inadequate competence, a failed control or a change to the planned method of work.
The course reinforces an important principle: you do not have to be certain before speaking up.
Learners explore when work may need to stop, the role of Dynamic Risk Assessment, checking the RAMS, raising concerns, resolving issues and making sure work only restarts when the risks are controlled and everyone affected understands what has changed.
How long does it take?
12 - 15 minutes approximately

Do I get a certificate?
Yes, you will receive a downloadable certificate once you pass all the questions.
How often is it recommended?
The certificate lasts for three years.
