Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

What is it?

This Preventing Sexual Harassment course is designed to help managers and workers understand what sexual harassment is, recognise inappropriate behaviour, and understand their responsibilities in maintaining a respectful and professional working environment.

It does not train participants to investigate complaints or handle formal disciplinary processes. Where concerns are raised or incidents occur, these must be managed in line with organisational procedures by trained and authorised personnel.

Why is it needed?

This course supports compliance with the Equality Act 2010, which makes sexual harassment unlawful, and the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023, which places a proactive legal duty on employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment before it occurs.

Training and awareness are key elements of demonstrating that this duty has been met.

About 40 minutes.

How often is it recommended?

Every three years.
