Hand-arm Vibration Awareness

Who is it for?

  • General maintenance workers; Electricians; Plumbers; Joiners; Painters and decorators; Plasterers; Construction workers; Roofers; Shop fitters; Gas fitters; Heating and ventilation engineers; Demolition workers; Telecommunication engineers; Fire/burglar alarm installers; Computer and data installers

Why is it needed?

From the UK HSE: "Regular and frequent exposure to hand-arm vibration can lead to permanent health effects. This is most likely when contact with a vibrating tool or work process is a regular part of a person's job. Occasional and/or infrequent low exposure is unlikely to cause ill health.

The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations place duties on employers and the self-employed to assess and identify measures to eliminate or reduce risks from exposure to hand-arm vibration."

This course follows UK HSE Guidance.

40minutes approximately

How often is it needed?

Due to it being a short course, it is recommended to be undertaken annually.
