Why is it needed?
Fires on construction sites can start quickly and spread rapidly, putting lives, property, and projects at risk.
This course covers the main causes of fire on site, including hot works, electrical faults, poor housekeeping, smoking, and flammable materials. It helps you understand how fires start, how they spread, and what you can do to prevent them.
You will learn the key controls needed to reduce fire risk, how to spot hazards, and what to do in an emergency. The course also highlights higher-risk activities such as refurbishment work, temporary electrics, and hot works, and why planning, supervision, and good housekeeping are essential.
The aim is simple – stop fires from starting, stay safe, and know how to respond if one occurs.
