Emma Wilkinson BSc (Hons), PGCE, TechIOSH is a Risk Management Consultant with PCR Global and the presenter of this course.
Before joining PCR Global, Emma worked as a HSE Inspector within the Construction Division of the Health and Safety Executive, giving her first-hand experience of how inspections are planned, carried out and enforced.
What is it?
This no-bumf one-hour awareness course explains what happens when an HSE Inspector arrives on site and what organisations should expect during an site inspection.
You will learn when HSE can enter premises, the powers available to Inspectors under Section 20 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, what a typical inspection involves, how Inspectors form their opinion, the questions they are likely to ask, and the range of enforcement options available - including Fee for Intervention (FFI), Notifications of Contravention (NoC), Improvement Notices, Prohibition Notices, and prosecution. The Sentencing Guidelines are also discussed.
